Hello Everyone! My team is starting a new project for our computer engineering senior design class.
Our project will be entitled ANT, which stands for Autonomous Navigation Toolkit. The project's main objectives are to autonomously navigate to a specified designation while avoiding any obstacles that we may encounter along the route. We will be using OpenCV to detect the localized objects (and perform smart path selection) and GPS to log/maintain our overall position. We will be posting updates on this thread over the course of the next two semesters (So please feel free to monitor our progress!)

Review the RoboMagellan contest, which is pretty much what you want to do. Writeup in the latest ROBOT magazine (Nov/Dec).
