Please check in here if you can't log into the OBEX

I have been trying to log into the OBEX without success for nearly a year. I can't remember the password (I think it didn't allow me to use the one I use for the forums for some reason) and when I go to the lost password link and enter my email address I get this error message:
Error

There has been an error processing your request. Parallax system administrators have been notified and they will investigate this issue immediately.

Despite the promise, no system administrator ever addresses this, none of the three or four emails I've sent Parallax have been answered, showing Matt the error message at UPEW did not result in a follow-up, and several mentions of this on the forums including a previous toplevel thread started by me have gone ignored. In a recent thread I mentioned it again and several other prominent forum members mentioned having the same problem.

I realize that things are busy at Parallax. I have been patient about this even though I have three or four objects ready to go, some of which were created in direct response to reocurring needs expressed on this forum.

Could somebody please fix this?

If they're blowing you off, why not register a new/different account (localroger2) ?

I've forgotten my password, too, and get the same error when requesting that it be sent to me.

I also had a situation awhile back when submitting something that needed administrator approval to post, due (IIRC) to an included PC host program. No admin attention was ever forthcoming, and the object never did get posted.

As a consequence, I've pretty much written off the OBEX and just post my stuff in the forum. At least the forum search tool works, so it's easy to find things here.

Well, this is specifically discouraged by the new forum rules, which is why I decided to bring it up again.

"Multiple accounts" was discouraged under the old guidelines, too.
There are a few members who were unable, I guess, to log in to the new/present forum, so they logged in on new accounts. Maybe this obex situation is related to that monkey-wrench?
Anyway, from my inconsequential point of view, it can't be a problem as long as you're not making separate accounts in order to be a jerk.

I was able to log in. The password has to be at least six characters and include one non alphanumeric character.

    Rich,

That's assuming you remember your password. If you don't, you're screwed.

Well yeah. Knowing the format of the password may help someone remember it though.

Given the apparent gravity of the issues reported here, I'm a little surprised that no one from Parallax has responded.

Thanks for the effort, Matt, but ... I got the PW and it still doesn't work.

See if you can log into the obex as me using it. I still get "username or password was invalid."

So, Walt - are you good?

    And what about you Roger?

Bean - I'll get yours reset on Monday and PM you with it.

    Anybody else having problems?

Yep, let's just say, "I'm cooked!"

    Thanks! :)

Had a browser with way too many passwords stored in it. Then one day there was the great, "oops, I bumped my laptop on the day the disk protect sub-system wasn't working" disk crash, and there you go. The rest of the story.

    And what about you Roger?

The password you PM'ed me still doesn't work. You can try using it to log in as me to verify. --Roger

I knew my password the whole time. It just didn't work after the forum change.( It does now)
    '
I have the dreaded "CRS" disease "Can't remember ....stuff "
    '
So I started a "Walt's read me" folder(note-pad) on a PC thats not on the net. to hold all of my user names and passwords a few years ago.

    Hey Obex log-in challenged people-

New PW's to be PM'd shortly...
I shall try them personally first with the Network guru to verify proper operation.

I'm also login challenged. I wouldn't mind except that I've committed code that needs some maintenance.
