Ok, cast your vote for the Quadcopter Naming Contest RUNNER UP-
Winner will receive an all expense paid trip for two to Haw...
no, wait. I'd better not.

I'll come up with something by mornin' - it'll be good though, trust me

Polls close at 8pm Saturday evening, or when I get back from a friends wedding- whichever is LA8er ;-)

I'm sure he was referring to the tropical, palm-studded, white-powder beaches of Hawke Harbour:

OTOH, the "Haw..." might also refer to the posh destination resort town of Hawra:

The mind reels with the possibilities! So be sure to vote, and help to send your favorite product-namer on a memorable journey!

I thought it was the airport code HAW, which is Haverfordwest, UK. Looks like a lovely place to vacation and drink warm beer.

Shame elev8 was not on the list as I would prefer it to my waited cogair vote.

    Hey Cluso- Elev8 won...This is the "runner-up" vote :-)
Right now, I'd give Cog Air the advantage for 2nd plc...but, OpenFly is holding strong too...

Where's Matt? 'Still at the wedding? Dancing into the wee hours, leaving the poll open for heaven knows what kind of mischief? As of 8:46 p.m. Cog Air is ahead by a nose: 10 to 9. Until Matt stumbles in, I guess more votes can still be counted.

    Who's on first?

Oh wow, Thanks Matt !! After paying 'bout $12 to see the movie back in '97, I figure that makes it worthwhile and perhaps even profitable.

Whats that, you want a speech? I'd like to thank Nicholas Cage, the Graceys, and all the forumistas who voted...

And as for that ticket to Haw... I'm guessing you meant Hawthorn, about 20 minutes and $3.80 by train from here.

    :)

    Tubular,

Congratulations! Enjoy your stay in beautiful downtown Hawthorn (where the beer is warm, the dingos are friendly and the parking is free).
    _____________

    Bud,

As a corollary to "Be careful what you wish for", "Be careful what you promise!" Or is it the other way around? :)

Hey Mindrobots, how did you ever get roped into this? Now you know I'm expecting hand delivery, don't go thinking you could just post it to the letter box out the front ...

Fortunately I have a mailbox in TX which we use for gathering loot from the states. They compact all the parcels and ebay treasures into one big box, jump on it, then ship the compacted mass by Fedex. Will the acrylic mount work with the old style ping? Got a link to the mount you're referring to?

And Phil what's all this Lou and Bud thing, I must be missing something. It's looking suspiciously black and white which may explain it

    Tubular,

The reference is to the comedy team of Bud Abbot and Lou Costello:

What warm beer! Its never in the glass long enough to get warm and we are not in the UK!

Matt: Yes, I realized that Elev8 had won. I just would have liked to see where it came wrt the others. Anyway as I said elev8 would get my first choice.

So the rest of you who voted cogair - do you prefer ele8 too?

@Tubular: Since I get an ELEV8 as my prize from Matt's ill fated "Name our Next Product" contest, I decided to put up one of the PING))) packages from that contest as a "People's Choice" prize for this contest. Send me your Texas address and I'll put it in the mail. It's a PING))) and the new bracket - the standard PING))) will fit either bracket! I would love to deliver it in person but half way around the world and upside down isn't in my near term travel plans!

CogAir will live on in the people's hearts when they fly their ELEV8!!!

@Cluso99: On the record, I think ELEV8 is a great name and I will proudly fly mine (when I get it)! Off the record, I liked the names I submitted, so I may have to put "Air Scribbler" stickers on it!! The ELEV8 name was a corporate decision. Matt voted and loaded the list so the little people (and Browser) responded to the call of rebellion with the "People's Choice" award.
