Pins for C3 expansion header?

Anybody find pins that work well with the C3 expansion header?

I plugged one of my memory modules using what I consider regular header pins and it's very loose.

It's not making good contact. Also, jumper wires I put in the C3's expansion header are loose too...

Maybe you're supposed to use extra thick header pins there?

(Maybe I should try to find a part number for the female header and see what is supposed to mate with it...)

Most 2.54 mm spacing headers use 0.64 mm square pins like these:

Just measured the pins I'm using and they are 0.64 mm. Yet, they are loose in the C3 expansion header...

That's strange. I just had a look at the C3 details and it looks like a standard 2x16 connector in the picture.

The Quickstart boards I have use what looks like a similar connector and a 0.64 mm square header fits that OK.

    Rayman,

It's all too easy to spring a receptacle's leaves by forcing a too-thick wire or pin into it. Are all the receptacle holes that way, or just some of them?

It may only be a few not making contact. I'm inserting a board with 10 pins (0.65 mm, gold plated pins).
It doesn't work unless I push on the board, putting some torque on it to make better contact.
I'll try cleaning my pins and see if that helps...

Cleaning my pins with a pencil eraser seems to have fixed the problem...
