Video mixing with the Propeller

Has anyone tried this? Mixing audio is no problem with op amps, but video mixing requires getting the frames in sync. I am thinking of have the Propeller generate text or graphics in an all white or all black or one color and then have it mixed with NTSC or PAL video.

Would the Parallax BackPack work for you?

Thanks, I located it. I was thinking of having a video camera gimbaled for universal movement and have a 'gun sight' overlay in the center of the image. Then I could have a laser pointer on another gimbal use to 'target' to the center of the gun sight image.

Not quite sure if I'd go as far as to find something to calibrate and shoot at targets, but the project would be fun. Maybe someone would like to have a paint ball gun readied for unwelcome visitors.

The Propeller is just about the ONLY economical alternative for this.

In addition to the backpack, there is also Bean's original solution which uses a sync detecting IC and might be a little more forgiving of unloaded video: http://www.igniteautomation.com/hc-osd.html (The board is for sale but the schematic and code are available online.)
