Anybody remember my presentation at UPEW of the LCD photo frame? Or this post...

I am now realizing with some embarrassment that I got so busy on return that I don't seem to have posted the color driver I demoed. I will correct that this weekend. I'D PUT IT IN THE OBEX IF I COULD RESET MY PASSWORD.
Anyway, if you've been waiting for me to post that or do the 8 inch frame, procrastination has been your friend! The 7 inch frame I demoed is on sale $10 off now $29.99, and the 8 inch frame is $20 off and now $39.99. At that price I have no excuse not to pick up an 8-incher tomorrow to see if I can hack it too. (Also, if you have designs on duplicating this hack you might want to go ahead and get your hardware; these office depot sales sometimes mean a product is near EOL, and these LCD hacks are very product specific.)
I also need to assemble the pictures and notes I took of the 7-inch build into a blog post, which I intended to do months ago, and I actually do have the time to do that now since it 's been too hot, rainy, and tropical stormy to do a lot of other stuff. For the 8 incher I will take a suggestion I think OBC made at UPEW, and instead of making the frame a stand-alone propeller device I'll put a connector on it; it won't be an industry standard, but I'll be able to use it with multiple projects that way, which makes sense since it's not portable (no battery).

Nice find Roger!
I think the level of interest in everything will be low for another two weeks or so as everyone tries to catch the last bits of sunshine for barbecue season...
So got a Sony CD player that had a video input. That works find. I don't know how Sony can have the LCD display portion hinge and swivel unless it is just a few wires; crazy small joint for the LCD portion. Works great for those projects that use TV_text object. Not the lowest price but a clean design.
I don't care for most photo frame 'mounting'; sort of have a 'leg' on the backside. And the border is too wide for my liking. I hope interest does pick up and members want more info on hacking and easy i/f to a photo frame.
