I am having problems trying to make the 28506 talk to my cubloc cb280 mirco controller,,,,, what could I be doing wrong,,,?

I had very good luck with the 28501 which is simular to the same thing but has 4800 bps baud rate which the 28506 has 9600bps which I changed in my code and I also pulled the raw pin low but still can't see any data strings comeing in on my port,,,,,,,, so when I have the 28501 working good and seeing data strings at 4800bps shouldn't I also see data when I hook up the 28506 and change my code to 9600bps ??????????????????

Thanks, Toby

Are you seeing any activity on the Tx pin on the GPS module? Take a look at it on the oscilloscope. If you see nothing it's the power or simply the module is a DOA. If there is something there you can figure out if your baud rate and/or voltage levels are correct.

One more thing. I just looked at the module schematic. Are you using the SIO pin on the 4 pin header to communicate with the module? According to the schematic the TX and RX lines are located on the PropPlug on other side of the PCB.

Check this recent post. I had a quick look at the firmware, and it does specify 4800 sometimes and 9600 at other times.

I wish I had the module to check it out. Maybe I can get one at Makers Faire this weekend.
