vpn1513 gps (anyone used this yet? ..if so how was it)

I need a small, but good gps for a project that I have,

I tried the miniGPS from sparkfun but that never seems to get a lock at all, even in rural areas.
(I had an old garmin GPS18 serial dongle as well, that got a 3d lock within 6 seconds)

so, how good is the vpn1513 gps in dense urban areas?
experience stories please

(BTW, Location is Iceland, it's usually enough to stick the Garmin GPS18 in the window sill to get a good fix)

u-blox GPS modules work very well in difficult locations. They are popular with the military and law-enforcement agencies for that reason.
