just a quick question, in the parallax serial terminal, is it normal for the prop plug to echo commands when it isn't even connected to a prop?

hey guys...could somebody please check something out for me? Is the propeller plug supposed to echo commands through the parallax serial terminal even when it isn't connected to a propeller, or when the tx and rx lines aren't connected?

My propeller seems to sucessfully accept a program both on ram and eeprom, but the program doesn't execute...I'm hoping its the chip and not the plug!

What's the status of PST in terms of local echo (tick box on the right side)? If connected (to a prop-plug) and enabled you will get a local echo when the box is ticked. And it would be a good idea to post your program.

    Hi lucas,

if you can download programs to RAM and to EEPROM the prop-plug and the prop-chip must work.
(It might be that the PLL is damaged in the prop-chip)

to check if your prop-chip is still working use a very simple program that makes an LED blink.

To check if the PLL is still OK use a demoprogram that is well known as running properly

To find out what maybe is wrong with your code attach a zip-archive created with the archive function of the propellertool.

    keep the questions coming
    best regards

    Stefan
