Several people asked where I find out about robot competitions. One place is Servo Magazine. Another is ROBOT CONTESTS AND COMPETITIONS FAQ at http://robots.net/rcfaq.html
I would recommend the following approach. Find a robot club or two near where you live or want to visit. Follow their website, mailing list, Yahoo Group, etc. As of today the Robot contest and competitions FAQ only lists the next Dallas Personal Robotics Group competition as in November. The DPRG mailing list announces that it is tentatively scheduled for Saturday November 12.
