hi thanks for looking
i want to switch a 24v 40 amp load with my BS2
anybody got a relay in mind that i can do that with?
i saw 5v switch for 28v but only a few amps
the ones with high amps are 12v switch
can i drive a relay with a relay?
thanks

Have you looked into solid state relays?

You might find it'll be easier to directly fire a tiny relay <20ma switching 1-5A with the BS, then use that relay to fire a contactor or a big relay.

Alternately, you could use a solid state device like the IRF510 to fire the big relay. I don't recall seeing any relay that will switch a 40A load at <20mA coil current..... besides, I'd want more isolation for my stamp switching 40A than a single device :)

So to answer your question, YES, you can drive a relay with a relay.

There are actually lots of ways you can do this, MOSFET, SCR, relays, a solid state relay (already mentioned)
