Can I the Loopback turn off?
And why?

    Look at page 28 of the Basic Stamp Syntax and Reference Manual. You'll see a diagram of how to connect a Stamp to a serial port for programming. Pins 6 (DSR) and 7 (RTS) of the DB-9 connector are wired together. This is the "loopback" connection. The Stamp Editor reports whether this connection is there as a check on whether a serial cable is plugged in. The Stamp Editor will still work if this connection is missing.
