Deformed Chip Rails

My Propeller D40 Chips recently arrived by FEDEX with deformed plastic rails as if they have been melted in
an oven.

Now we are having an extremely hard time removing the chips without bending the pins.

What could be the cause?

Have you contacted the supplier? They should replace them.

    Hello William,

If you cannot get ahold of your supplier, or if Parallax is your supplier, do let me know - I'll set up an exchange at no cost. You are sure right, the rails look melted from heat. Possibly from a hot warehouse or truck? I can assure you, they do not leave our warehouse looking like that.

Reach me at my email address below.

    Thank you!

That is strange! Sometimes regular USPS mail goes through a sterilizer that can melt plastic like that. But, I haven't heard of Fedex using it...

Are chip rails being made from corn-based plastic now? I have a plastic cup made from this plastic (disposable/compostable) that I left in my car (empty, in a cup holder) for a very hot, sunny morning. The cup had deformed/melted/sagged and shrunken somewhat by 1PM.

I did a little research and found that the manufacturers of these cups recommend that the shipping temperature never exceed 110 degF or they will melt/deform.

William, as our distributor you are encouraged to take these issues directly to your sales representative for quick resolution.
