USB To Serial cable not working..... BS2

Hi, Has anyone been sucessful in using a USB to Serial cable on a BS2 running Windows7? I've tried many diffrent drivers... Trying to jump back into the programing after a long vacation and hit with this challenge first!!! Thanks

    Yep, and it all depends on your cable. Not all work.

    Thanks.. It must be a generic one. No name on the boots (blue) with silver cable. I beleve this worked on my old XP system with the stamp2. broke the boot apart, board is marked USB-MAX211_led chip is the Max 211, no surprise, and the Au9720. IM READY TO JUST PURCHASE A KNOWN WORKING UNIT.....

    Yes, the advantage of buying Parallax equipment is that you know it's spec'd to work right.

    I have a blue adapter with silver cable, the driver I use is called a prolific pl203 driver. It works with windows 7 and xp

    Did it ever work on another OS, another computer? If not, you may have a cheapie with inverted signals. Check this thread http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?133195-USB-Adapter-Fix&highlight=usb+serial+adapter if you like to experiment, you might be able to make an adapter that works using a 50-cent inverter.
