    Perhaps, but they need to add an on/off switch so it is not using *any* electricity when not in use.

    All these little things, which are "on" all the time, add up...

    U-Socket's energy efficient design only outputs power through the USB port if something is connected to it. This can save you up to $25 per year in reduced energy costs. Good for you, good for the environment

    I wonder about the wording on that?

    "only outputs power through the USB port" - is not saying it uses zero power if nothing is connected.

    I agree, I guess we won't know until somebody stops raving about how awesome it is and actually tests it. I also noticed the wording "5-Star Energy Efficient Design" which resembles, but isn't Energy Star 5.0
