BST and PST

I'm running BST Brad's Spin Tool on the Mac. I have programs written to output on PST Parallax Serial Terminal with Parallax software for the PC. I don't use the PC. How can I run these programs on Mac BST?

Thanks for your reply.

BST has a built in serial terminal. You will find it in the menus somewhere. I talk to it from the Prop with FullDuplexSerial.

    Excellent question!

I'm in the process of moving (back) to the Mac world due to an act of God and was looking for a good, well-featured serial terminal for OS X. So far, I haven't really found anything, yet.

There is the serial terminal under the View menu but it is limited in functionality - it will talk to your Prop. I was looking for something at least with some cut/paste capability.

There must be something out there folks are using......

I like Coolterm for Mac. Google will find it for you.

The nice thing about bst's built in serial terminal is that, once activated, it pops up automatically after a program is compiled. It can do simple input and output, if not the fancier screen position commands. You can't cut and paste from the terminal window, but it does have an option on the file menu to save the entire session to a text file.

There's a free MacOS program called goSerial that provides for simple text, but is also scriptable and can capture/send text to/from a file. For most stuff, I also prefer using BST's terminal window.

Humanoido, Look under BST's View menu, select Serial Terminal, and click on Connect. Should be clear what to do. Though the menu sure is 'hidden' at first. Use FDS in your OBJ and it should be 'easy' after that

bst has a quirk in windoze, so maybe the same on the mac. When you first open bst, next open the serial terminal window in bst and set it up (port etc). Now continue. When you download, bst will automatically switch to the serial terminal in bst - this is great because you do not have to switch in a hurry. Now, be warned, it is not a full terminal emulator, just the raw basics.

Does "BST Serial Terminal" emulate any device?
    PST does PST
SENA BTerm can emulate a VT100
    etc.
    Thanks,

I will continue to use PST unless something better is pointed out; just wondering on the BST. Already use SENA on hand-helds, this was for the PC/Windows application. Or is there an appstore for Windows now ...
