Propeller Proto Board VGA Question

Hello Everyone

I have always wondered just exactly what kind of displays can be attached to the VGA adapter on a Propeller Proto Board. Is this just for a small LCD or can a full blown computer monitor be attached to this adapter? And yes, in this particular instance I am to lazy to search the documentation for hours, especially when I know someone can answer it for me in seconds :)

Thanks in advance.

Bruce

I've used both with a similar circuit.

You can attach most VGA displays to the VGA connector on the Protoboard. There's an occasional weird display that won't work because it expects some non-standard signal on one of the pins not used and some displays are fussy about what scan frequencies they'll accept and that's a function of the driver you're using, not the connector, but that leaves a lot of VGA displays that will work fine. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2131 that works very nicely with my Demo Board / Protoboard / C3 / Hydra / whatever.

    Thanks Mike and Leon

I also have a Samsung SyncMaster, but it is the 955DF model. Looks like I will have to order another Proto Board and do some testing, because I have some new ideas for the HV board that I proposed.
