I first saw the Mimdset and Starwars Jedi trainer units and thought they were galvanic skin response. The headset from neurosky.com seems to be a real 1 channel brainwave sensor. (thanks localroger)
In the Prius thread http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?133542-Bike-Technology-Gone-Wrong&p=1023765&viewfull=1#post1023765 they are using these to test for brain activity in drivers, otherwise they have to ride an expensive bike. Or something like that.
There is a unit for $89 with bluetooth for PC and Android.

I'm thinking this should be connected to my fancy Senheiser cordless noise canceling headphones, and make a brainwave controlled channel changer for the TV/DVR.
If that works, I would try an interface to a powered wheel chair. Maybe it would need a manual "confirm" button so it doesn't take off down the block if the occupant starts daydreaming.
Any thoughts or other project suggestions?
