Someone gave me a couple of the BS2P40 which I want to mess around with.
Is there a cheap eval board to plug that into and mess around a bit? I am looking to pad a Digikey order today.

Its been a while since I have used anything from Parallax.
Chip if you are reading this its been a long time since we used to chat all the time
when I used to use you programmers and emulators.

Parallax used to sell a board called the BS2p40 Demo Board, which could accept the module, as well as the 24-pin modules. Now the only board they sell that supports 40-pin is the Professional Development Board.

If you're looking for inexpensive, you could wire it up on a full sized breadboard - https://www.adafruit.com/products/239

You would need to buy or build a cable to program it with.

It's been a while since I've used a Basic Stamp but I thought the 40 pin version could be plugged into the Board of Education. I remember the extra pins just hang over the edge.

Once the Stamp is programmed you move it to an appropriate receptacle (or bread board).

Again, I'm not sure about this.

    Duane,
Thanks. Having a look at the pinouts that might work.

    Thanks Dan,
I would probably use an intermediate socket to protect the pins.
Please pass on my greetings to Chip when you see him.
    Thanks
