Stamp editor and propeller tool APP!

Man, oh man, would I seriously LOVE to be able to program my stamps and propellers with my iPod Touch... Of course I'd need to build or buy the cable that would plug into my device and go to the USB-b on my Propeller QuickStart board, or the serial port on my basic stamp projects... but that would be a fun project.

If there was an app for that... it would make so much stuff easier. Field upgrading/reprogramming... Even debugging if the app also had a split screen for the debug window.

What a cool idea, yes? :-)

I would love to have an app like this. not only debugging but maybe you could find a way to use the Ipod's built in accelerometer and blue-tooth for robot control too. :D

I think that using the iPod's sensors could be accomplished without an app, per say, but that would also be interesting. There is a quadcopter called the AR Drone that has an app to control the flight of the copter by tilting your iPod Touch/iPhone... I want one! :-)

The programming of the Propeller or Basic Stamp requires a very specific program and interface, but one which would be - in my estimation - an incredible convenience. It might be more of a convenience for an advanced user than a beginner, certainly, but to be able to just yank my iPod Touch out of my shirt pocket, stuff a cable in and edit/download my Spin or PBasic code to the device I am working with would be fantastic. In the field, it's not convenient to lug a laptop around. Some of the places my devices live now are in boxes on polls in outside locations where you have to hold the laptop in one hand - balancing it- while doing whatever I need to do with the device with the other. Occasionally, this would involve a ladder. It's a huge pain. Being able to do this type of thing with my iPod Touch would be a joy! I could even experiment with my QuickStart board while at the beach! (Yes, I actually do things like that)... It just seems to me that the convenience of an app like this would be tremendous, I'm amazed that it hasn't found a greater response than it has. Must be the wrong people looking at this thread! :-)
