BST crashes with Intego Virus Barrier X6 (OSX)

After installing Intego Virus Barrier X6 on my MacBook, BST would not start. I only got 'BST has quit unexpectedly'.
Work around:
BST can be started by turning the X6 real time scanner off. Then run BST. I am running OSX 10.5.8 (Leopard). This happened with 0.19.3 and earlier versions of BST.
The attached screen shot shows how to turn scanning off and back on in Virus Barrier 6X. Once, turning back on still let BST run. After re-starting, BST only runs with scanning off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated on how to have scanning & BST.
