Whit 's Published! Read All ABout It!
Don't miss Whit+'s great review of the S2 in the new ROBOT magazine. Nice to see some Parallax product coverage in there. It took a while! There may be another article on a Parallax-based robot in the same mag...
Cute kids, Whit!
Even as wrinkly newborns, my twin girls were much cuter than me. I knew they would be far more photogenic than I for the "human interest" photos for the magazine. People saw plenty of my ugly mug from that silly jobs article on Yahoo.

My wife agrees with me that you both have cute kids.
I think the picture of the daughter "taking a break" with a pacifier was our favorite. (Not that Whit's kids should take up the pacifier in order to be cuter.)
I'm going to drop my subscription to Servo and change it to Robot. There seems to be a lot more interesting stuff going on there.
As far as the pictures of my children - my son loves it - my teenage daughter would prefer to be in a fashion mag! My son and I find that hard to believe!
Note to self: go pick up Robot tomorrow...
Erco - didn't know you had it in ya' - Excellent!

Whit: Tell your fashion-loving daughter that my wife Debbie was featured in a TLC episode of "What Not to Wear" in 2004, a fashion makeover show. An underpaid teacher before I met her, she made most of her own clothes. They sent her off to NYC for a shopping spree and filming. Her episode was quite popular and she STILL gets recognized by strangers. Girls love that fashion stuff and it gets locked in their memory.
Check out the third to last comment (4th page) on this Youtube video, where the wifey is seen for 5 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTuYd1jhP5Y
Hope it gets some folks scribbling with the S2. I love that bot.
As for erco - he has all sorts of tricks up his sleeve. But was there any plywood on that balancer?
@erco - my daughter will be insanely jealous!
Did you notice that erco's bot in that article has a fair amount of PLASTIC in it? *GASP*

Both of those magazines are on my subscription list.
I wouldn't give up on SERVO quite yet. There are some new articles I've been working on to send in to them. They should be good ones!

To see a Whit article in print, I shall rustle from the hermitage - sally forth and brave the madding crowd.
PE - "Elektor", "Servo", "Make:", but no "Robot".
There was one PEK box set and I noted a dearth of "open source" stuff. I enquired as to the availability of an Ardweeny and a Screw Shield and the "associate" gave me a really weird look and said, "Well, you'll have to go to the drug store for that." ??
AFA damage mitigation, I trust that the attached work-in-progress photo of "Woodrow" will restore the faith. Wooden chassis, drive wheels & caster!
Shades of Radio Shack They must transfer the same people between the two store chains.
I smell a setup with that loaded question!
Just got it.
Children..Cover your Ears!!
It's usually best to read P.J.'s posts carefully...
@P.J. - thanks for rustling, sallying, and braving...Sorry it came to naught.
It will still take another 30 days before robot mag is delivered here - intl. shipping is very slow. So I offer my pre-congrats and look forward to seeing your article!

And ScribblerKart, you're one photogenic dude.
Happy scribbling, indeed!
Cheers,
