I personally love quotes. I think it really gives us motivation and good insights about life and other aspect in life. There are too many quotes that had been written and some are from famous and prominent people or person.

Feel free to list some of your favorite motivational quotes here.

I'll start:

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln

And hai I am Pompano, I am new :)

    ...or misquotes:

    Winston Churchill

Quote: “The only traditions of the Royal Navy are rum, s*d*my and the lash.”
Churchill did not utter this phrase at all – his assistant (Anthony Montague-Brown) did. What Churchill did say later was that he wished he had said it.

One that gets me pumped everyday:

When You Earnestly Believe You Can Compensate For A Lack Of Skill By Doubling Your Efforts, There's No End To What You Can't Do.

If A Pretty Poster And A Cute Saying Are All It Takes To Motivate You, You Probably Have A Very Easy Job.

It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

And those (de)motivational posters are great, too.

    Another often misquote:

    "No good deed goes unpunished."

Often attributed to Orson Welles. Welles was actually quoting the Marquis de Sade.

=It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

...Man, is that a depressing quote! (but sometimes true)

I also am a collector of quotes and these are the best I've heard...

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." - Henry David Thoreau

""When one teaches, two learn" - Robert Half

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - SOCRATES

“How much of human life is lost in waiting.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The less you talk, the more your listened too" - ABIGAIL VAN BUREN

“A boy becomes a man when a man is needed.” - John Steinbeck

"Authentic power is gained through vigorous participation in life, coupled with an openness to new experiences, emotional sure-footedness, strong ties to other people, the ability to find interest and pleasure in whatever we encounter and, most of all, the ability to construct meaning in our lives."

“Life is like arriving late for a movie, having to figure out what was going on without bothering everybody
with a lot of questions, and then being unexpectedly called away before you find out how it ends” - Joseph Campbell

An Italian friend of mine who owns a small construction business came to visit me one day as I was attempting to paint the ceilings in my house. He promptly started to motivate me with the sayings he offers to his laborers:

"Work well and work slowly. If you cannot work well at least work slowly"

"As a minimum, you have to start."

When guys come to him looking for work he says:

"Work we have lot's of. Money, no."

Here's some motivation for you. I didn't know I was a welfare case until I heard Alan Greenspan say this:

"Most high-income people in our country do not realize that their incomes are being subsidized by their protection from competition from highly skilled people who are prevented from immigrating to the United States. But we need such skills in order to staff our productive economy, so that the standard of living for Americans as a whole can grow.”

Of course, I'm sure he wasn't talking about Financial Analysts when he said high-income people.
