According to this article from yahoo, Delta airlines plans to close 24 airports and one of the listed airports is Thief River Falls, Minnesota which is where Digikey is located. This could mean no air mail from Digikey and loss of business to Digikey.

What are your opinions of this and do you think this will affect Digikey?

How far away is the next airport? Does Digikey have more than one location? I don't know but I think they would be more than one location. Delta may close the airport but that wouldn't keep someone else from leasing the airport? Would it?
It just means someone would have to act as a courier to the next dropoff location and you might have to pay a little more for that kind of service or they could move or they could start another location to counter this.
I am almost certain Digikey only has that one location. But whatever happens, shipping from Digikey will most likely increase somewhat.

Northwest (Mesaba Airlines) flies to Thief River Falls from MSP, too.
Many Digi-Key visitors fly to Grand Fork, North Dakota and drive an hour. You just go east for 30 minutes and turn left at the cemetery. Also served by Mesaba.
Polaris is also next door to Digi-Key; you can trust market forces to ensure airline service to this little town with massive industry.
We just booked a couple of tickets for Parallax to go to Digi-Key. It's truly the far reaches of northern USA and they've got the nicest people on the planet.
