Viewport software

I just downloaded the latest & greatest version of the viewport software. It refuses to see my propeller QuickStart board... I've verified that I have the proper port selected (com14), but no go. My regular editor sees it just fine, but I quit out of that and start viewport and it says it can't see my prop. Anyone else experience this, or am I just doing something that once I know what it is, I will realize was really dumb and obvious? :-)

Thanks!

Dave

The viewport cannot download to the prop, or even see it. But the regular Propeller Tool can, just fine. I am not running them at the same time... :-) Baffled...

Windows 7, 64 bit Sony Vaio w/Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.1GHz, 4 Gig RAM... Maybe it doesn't run on 64 bit systems?

    Dave,

I run Windows 7 Pro 64 with no problem on Viewport, so you can take that out of the mix for the time being.

Even though the Quick Start is not in the list of supported devices for I/O pins and such, it should still detect the Prop and program the EEPROM.

    Hi Dave,
    Let's get this solved!

    Please try this:
    - Close everything else
    - Reset the ftdi USB driver, by unplugging USB cable
    - Start ViewPort
    - Set the "Port" switch to either "Auto" or the name of your port "com14"
    - Press "Run>Identify/Reset Hardware"

If it doesn't work, please tell me version number, and just for fun, include a screenshot. Also, anything special about your setup? Super old machine? Running in emulation under mac/linux?
I test on XP, Vista, Win 7 32bit and 64bit. Some people have issues "connecting" to firmware running on the Prop- I've never heard of people having problems "identify/reset" the Prop.
