If it was exciting to place the order wait till you get to try them out.
Hopefully you also ordered the USB board for PC setup. You could certainly get by without it, but it sure makes it easier to confirm baud rates, ID, channel, etc.
@ajward: You'll love them!! I traded in for some (+ the USB adapter) about a year ago and I have used them for multiple projects since! They are so easy to use, have such long range, and are just good modules.
I agree with Ken; the USB attachment is useful in that it lets you confirm that they are working with only a 1 wire attachment on the other Xbee. This came in handy when 1 Xbee failed me 9 months later (human error - short circuit. )and I couldn't find out if it was the Xbee's fault or not.
@ Ken - I've been waiting a while to get them. I ordered 3 - 1mW wire antenna modules, 2 - 5 / 3.3 volt adapters and 1 USB adapter. First off, working my way through the XBee manual. Then installing one in my tracked 'bot to tote around the wireless video camera. I was using a teevee IR remote to drive Ted around the house, but it was mostly line-of-sight and the remote's 30 second time-out was a bit of a buzz kill.
@ Microcontrolled - Looking forward to playing with them.

Is there a project in mind yet?
