Flight Instrumentation/sensor question

Hi,

I'm interested in flight instrumentation - artificial horizons, pitch/yaw/roll sensing, etc. Where might I find a good resource that specifically discusses the proper implementation of things like 3-axis accelerometers and gyros, compasses, etc., to generate the necessary data and represent it graphically?

Thanks for any ideas/direction. I'm not actually planning to use this on live aircraft, I just want to be able to experiment with the functions and understand what's going on, perhaps make something for my car! :-)

You may want to ping Bill (wjsteele on forums) to see what input he has to offer. His propeller based Wingman product accomplishes all of what you asked about. Obviously he can't share code specifics, but can probably give you a lot of pointers.
