Anyone noticed the Prop Tool is crashing at start up?

I have been having problems with start up of the Propeller tool in Windows and was wondering if others have had the same problem (solution would be good too). I was running version 1.2.7(R2) at home and installed 1.3 and it worked again. At work I tried the same thing but uninstalled version 1.2.7(R2) first and I still get the same crash with the ever so helpful MS report showing up.

Any suggestions?

Propeller Tool 1.3 works OK for me (Win7 x64).

Well I checked with my magic 8 ball and it said "Answer unclear ask later". Which everyone knows means reboot. By golly that worked! So I am guessing the driver needs to be recognised by the system.

Sorry for the fuss, it should have been the first thing I did after upgrading.

I wasn't aware there was a version 1.3. When did that happen?

You could try setting the compatibility mode. That's how I worded around the shutdown problem with v1.2.7 on my Windows Vista machine. Right-click on the Prop tool icon, click on "Properties", select the "Compatibility" tab, and select one of the compatibility modes. It might fix the problem.

EDIT: I was editing my comment while you were posting your fix. Glad the reboot resolved the issue.

1.3 has been around for a couple of months. I think it was released about the same time that Parallax Semiconductor was launched.

Ive noticed that if the last directory I worked out of was a flash drive and I try to open the Prop tool without the flash drive in it crashes. I then either have to reboot or open the tool by double clicking any other spin file. I dont know if this is the same problem or not, but just throwing it out there.

I think Jemartin may be on to something as I have been working with memory sticks and the problem comes and goes with both 1.2.7 and 1.3 versions. This morning neither would work but I unplugged the prop board and I got 1.2.7 to work. I now have unplugged the memory stick and 1.3 and 1.2.7 work. The start up crashes have been happening on my work and home computer that are XP systems. I will continue to see if the problem occurs if I don't use memory sticks. My old reliable laptop which I no longer connect to the net (for a couple of years now) runs 1.2.7 without fail memory stick or not.
