fragile pins on the MCU's

recently I started using the BS2 developing code that works because thats what I had available.Trying to work on a project that was developed using the BS2sx.Im still not quite sure the difference between the two?Any how these modules are expensive.Trying to carefully pull them off my PDB they suddenly pop loose usally bending some of pins on the MCU.They are going to break :(.

I suggest designing a tool to remove them with even force or a clip to hold them with just enough pressure to maintain a good connection.

Your thoughts please.

I use a wide-bladed pocketknife that I can slip all the way under the BASIC Stamp from one end and rotate back and forth to loosen each side, in turn, a little bit at a time. I've never broken -- or even bent -- a pin using that procedure.

Use a sacrificial socket if you are removing and replacing it a lot.

    Hello!

Here at Parallax we use the flat side of a "spudger" (MENDA #35621) to coerce modules out of their sockets. It is an inexpensive tool.

Tech Recommendation: If you use such a tool to remove a BS2 module from a socket, exercise care and gently ease it out by rocking it back and forth a bit at a time to avoid bending the pins.

    Cheers, Jen J.
