Still no luck communicating with the Basic Stamp SX OEM chip. Have added the caps for the reset, added the echo circuit for the RS232 side which Im using a standard MAX232 chip.
Have tried 3 SX chips, all show the same problem "No Basic Stamp Found", have tried RTC line grounded and pulled up.
What Im wondering is if there is a problem with the I2C memory, would I still get this message. Is there anyway of debugging the communications side. All signals look like they are toggling, all the correct levels. The 50MHZ crystal is running,
Any help would be great
Thanks
Thomas

Loopback should be Yes ( RS232 cable connected ) and Echo is irrelevant.
Does you error message identifies which port is failing to connect?
And yes , you will get same nondesritpive message if the E2PROM is missing or not working.
If it's your own deal are you using the Parallax interpreter?
Are you aware of the Parallax-provided schematic?
(You've started another subject on this matter already.)
