Can the prop, using a Parallax Propeller Demo Board, record sound? I know that Chip Gracey has code in the OBEX to listen to sound heard through the microphone but I didn't find any code to record it.

I want to use the PPDB to detect and record very short snippets of machine brain waves in the form of sound

for this project

Thanks for your reply.

The Prop can certainly record a short sound clip. How much sound depends on the number of bits per sample and the numbers of samples per second. If you have some kind of external memory attached to the Demo Board, you may be able to stream the sound data to that memory. You will have to at least double buffer the sound data and how successful you will be will depend on the speed of the external memory and how much sound data you're generating. This is just a datalogging application and you can use the VGA display of microphone data plus a datalogging application as the starting point for writing a program. I'm not aware of an existing program to do this.

I think Kye's SD card demo (3.0) has a sound recording feature.
