Hello Everyone

The last time I was programing "Micro Controllers" was in 1984 using the Motorolla 6802. I used Assembly language, and every character had to be hand entered via the keypad. I'm looking forward to playing with this "new" toy, and I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. Thanks Chris from technical support for all of your....support

Steve

Hello Steve! I only just joined too and frankly I'm overwhelmed at the knowledge base represented here. Best part of it is that so far I've not found the sometimes negative side of geekiness which one often encounters in my favorite hobby of model railroading, which is basically hostility and rudeness. Soon I hope to purchase one of Parallaxes fine offerings and get to work and then I'll be really glad I came here.

I got the BS2 kit from Radio Shack. But I don't think it's the latest version, or best version, but It's fine to get the brained fired up...

Welcome to the Forums, Steve and Mike! :-)
... I was programing "Micro Controllers" was in 1984 using the Motorolla 6802...

That makes you "ancient" - I know because I started with the 6502 in 1980 :D

Post questions, ask for advice- and don't be shy! As you've discovered so far (and rightly so, as davejames points out) there's a wealth of knowledge here from an abundance of viewpoints and experiences.

Remember, that everybody here (including even the 'legendary' Mike Green!) started from "NZKL" - Near Zero Knowledge Level too.

    You know....

Just in case I'm stuck in an endless loop burning up the motor or something. I guess I would have to study the BS2 architecture. I'm just used to hitting control break on my pc
I panic sometimes and just pull out the wires, as I have no off switch on my board....

    Cheers....
