Need advice, BOE-bot, HB-25 motor controllers and quantum 600 powerchair

I am a full time college student at Sinclair community college. I recently had a BOE-bot class. I liked it so much I bought my own robot. Now my plans are to combine my old power-chair with my robot. I was looking into the HB-25 motor controllers. the power-chair has two batteries they are 12volts NF- 22 (55-AH) the motors are glide, high torque, XI, Generation two motors.( j5718908213020 pride, electrocraft)
My question is this, will the HB-25 work with these motors and these batteries? I want to by-pass the on-board controls and use the BOE-bot. One battery to each motor and two HB-25. Any risk to the system?

At 12V you should be safe, as long as the motor is 1/2 HP or lower, according to the specs Parallax provides: http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/motors/HB-25MotorController-V1.2.pdf
