Xbee and BS2 solution needed please

Xbees and BS2 solution needed please.

I have a Xbee wired to a BS2 and a Xbee on my computer, both with proper adpater boards. I can not get them to talk. I'm keeping it simple. I want the remote to send the letter "b" to the base (computer) which is using the XTCU software. I do not know how to get this working. What settings should be programmed into each Xbee? He's the configs so far:

base device:
modem type: XBP24
firmware: 10E8
SH: 13A200
SL: 406AF48D

remote device:
modem type: XBP24
firmware: 10E8
SH: 13A200
SL: 406AF402

You probably don't have them set up completely. Check the documentation on setting the pan and "MY" attributes.

You should not need to configure the XBee at all. Simply connect properly to your BS2 and use code such as:
SEROUT 8,84,["b"]

Are you using materials from the Xbee Tutorial at all?

If you or the code has changed the configuration at all, connect it to the PC, use X-CTU restore button, read the XBee and write to ensure it has the default configuration.

If you could, explain how it is connected to your BS2 and post your code.

SEROUT 2,84,["b"]
I used your code above, and I get nothing on other Xbee (yet).

BS2 direct wired to an Xbee. I see red light flashing on Xbee remote when the BS2 outputs data to be sent through it, but nothing on terminal program on computer.

Problem solved! I re-read everyones reply's and rechecked everything. I found an open ground between the adapter board and the Xbee. Fixed that and now I've taken my first baby step into the world of Xbees. I am very happy!
