Looking For Participants To Help Create An Eagle Library For Propeller Development

Hello Everyone

Would anyone be interested in helping to create an eagle library for the Propeller chip?

I was kind of thinking along the lines of all common and necessary components. Such as:
  • Propeller chips
  • Crystals
  • EEPROM
  • Voltage regulators
  • Capacitors
  • Resistors
  • Power plugs
  • Headers
  • Connectors
It would be real nice to have all the common things in one library for very fast development. Just a thought. I would be willing to devote some time, but I do not want to create the whole library by myself. Here is a link to a nice PDF for creating custom library devices for those that may be interested.

Ya know, all the stuff you asked for is already in the eagle library. Also, for the Prop chip you can get it's package online in the eagle extra downloads page.

Use the sparkfun library if you want to find all the other parts in a nice neat space too.

That's a very nice library tutorial you found there.

A PropellerDevices.lbr library would be a nice one-stop shopping place for simple beginner designs. You could add PropellerPlatform footprints too.

Personally I get annoyed by searching for components in all those libraries - have you found any VGA connectors yet? (I think there are 2 in all the libraries).

I'll help when I have time.

@Kye - Thanks for the tip concerning the sparkfun library, I will definitely check into it. As for all the items being there, yes I know, but they are spread all over and you have to do some research to find the right thing. I was thinking more along the lines of a Propeller DIP Plus Kit all in one library along with some extras, such as package variants, perhaps several different types of regulators and EEPROMS. In fact, I was even thinking a Propeller DIP Plus Kit template to save all the searching, just open a file and all the components are there, just place them where you want them and wire them up.

@jazzed - :) I have all kinds of handy documents and links tucked away. If I ever find anything good, I stash it away for future use. As for the VGA connectors, well I never had a need for them, but I will see if I can find you something.

@jazzed - Look in the con-subd.lbr sub device F15 and then device F15HDH for horizontal and F15HDV for vertical.

To much work for me and no time. Finding the stuff isn't that bad. You just have to force your self.

@Kye - I looked into that Sparkfun library, however it is under a licensing agreement. However thanks for the tip.

LOL. I have been at it since 4AM looking for existing stuff and making new stuff. Believe me when I say it's bad. However, when I am done, all I will have to do is open a template and a good portion of my parts will be there ready for placement and hookup.

I personally think it would be a good idea for Parallax to do something similar for all the major editors. I think it would help sell a lot of parts and kits. But that is just my opinion and not based upon any facts.

EDIT: For instance, if Parallax was to make a template for both the Propeller DIP Plus Kit and the Basic STAMP OEM, I imagine the number of downloads pertaining to these templates would be fairly staggering in a short period of time.
