PPDB FTDI chip problem

The FTDI chip on my PPDB stopped working recently. I noticed that some of the pins of the FTDI chip are corroded. I assume that it's leftover flux. Does anyone have any ideas besides using a PropPlug plugged into the breadboard?
When I first got the board it worked fine, but after a while it started resetting the prop after programming it every time. A month or two ago it started working fine again, and now it doesn't work at all. My computer, which runs Ubuntu 9.10, completely ignores it when I plug it in. I tried programming the Prop in the same board with a PropPlug and it works fine.

All the boards I have gotten from Parallax have be void of any leftover flux, so it may be another substance, maybe some spilled taco sauce?
