How About USPS Shipping for Ebay Items?

Yikes, I just paid $8 shipping for one Stamp I got off Ebay from pbasic1. That's their flat rate shipping for any single item. I asked about USPS shipping and the answer came back no.

I'm guessing that USPS shipping would be no more than a buck for one Stamp. I know it's an option when we order things direct from Parallax.

Any chance of giving us that option for small Ebay items?

Postage has been very reasonable from a couple of Chinese eBay suppliers I bought some items from recently. They did take nearly three weeks to get here, though.

Actually USPS is pretty near the default shipping method from eBay. They make it really easy, but a lot of people go for the flat rate "if it fits it ships" which is a bit more expensive for smaller items than if you actually measure the box and weigh it, but the difference is usually not much. First Class is cheapest for under 13 oz. packages, but delivery confirmation adds a little. I would never ship anything by UPS or FedEx.

And I agree, the postage from China is not bad, and often it's included in the price, and it never seems to take that long.

Also, I would never buy from anyone who over-charges on the shipping. It's pretty easy to figure out what the ball park price should be. You do often have to make allowances for packing materials and such though.

I wish I could get away with just $8! :) Try selecting a European country as destination.. shipping costs for otherwise reasonably priced items is a total deal-killer unless you're desperate.

I'm not speaking generally of Ebay shipping, I'm referring specifically to items sold by Parallax from their Ebay site, pbasic1. There are no shipping choices for their Ebay sales; there is no USPS option. Everything ships UPS for a flat $8. OK for larger items, but not in the case of this one little Stamp.

I feel your pain. I have been bitten by the charges myself.

I found a way around it. I normally order a few connectors or SX chips and ask for the ebay items to be included in that order. Then it's USPS all the way! Just a nice email to Lauren.

You need to order at least 6 more PINGs for your plybot, dont' you?
