Smallest propeller board (3.3v)

What is the smallest propeller board currently available? I have a propmod that has a broken regulator and am looking for a replacement.

A SpinStamp is pretty small if you can handle having only 16 I/O pins available plus a couple more for serial I/O plus the programming port.

SpinSocket is a DIP32 with 26 IO pins. Attached is a panel of 6 SpinSocket modules.

How small do you need it? I started designing a 20mm x 20mm PCB with a QFN Propeller, crystal and EEPROM some months ago, but put it on the back burner. I could resurrect the project.

The Propeller ASC is 2.1" x 2.7" and has analog.

@Mike, thanks, I have a spin stamp and it runs on 5v.

    @jazzed, I'll look into that

@Leon, I don't have a specific size but stamp size would be nice. It needs to have a regulator and enough to run on it's own. The propmod would be perfect if it was working.

The Propeller Backpack is 1.5" x 1.35", includes a regulator, and just happens to be on sale right now (Weekly Deal) for $27.99.

@Martin, A little too big. I use arduinos and was looking for something smaller. I also wanted to try doing this with a prop.

@Phil, It doesn't look like the pins are available.

@jazzed, Is there a link for the spinsocket (in english) ?

@Franklin, my web site is slow coming on line because i've been so busy.
The best link I can offer right now is a forum thread mentioned at the bottom.

    Here is a pin-out:

    attachment.php?attachmentid=79369&d=1300400819

    Features:
    • VIN is 1.3 to 3.3 volts for battery boost converter assembly.
    • VIN is 4.2 to 6.5 volts for regulator assembly.
    • Crystal is 6MHz, EEPROM is 64KB.
    • 2 SO8 footprints are designed for byte-wide FLASH (drivers/chips available)
    • PropPlug connects to SOUT,SIN,RES*,GND
    • VDD is 3.3V output and should only be used with regulator assembly.
    • Dimensions without headers are: 1.65" x 0.74" x 0.22"
    • Two types of 0.1" stackable headers and male headers are available.
I accept PayPal and am flexible with pricing. PM me if you're interested.

With the Backpack, you get eight digital pins on the daughterboard connector, two of them with sigma-delta ADC capability, plus one for I/O, and two for the Prop Plug (11 total). The rest are dedicated to special A/V functions.

No regulator on board but my M44D40+ module is dip40 size, see my signature. Pair it with a PowerTwig, and I think you may have what you asked for. I will actually be taking some pictures of the two in use together in the next few days.

In about a month I will have some boards that are DIP64 size to sale. These are intended to be used as a 68000 Emulator that can be dropped in to replace the real 68000, and do have voltage regulators so should work fine with anything up to 9V in. They can be used for anything, and there are jumpers to alow for bypassing the multiplexers.

I think the center of a "Propeller Proto Board" is a nice size. I would like parallax to sell just the middle.

I remember someone mentioning that he'd cut out the centre part.

richaj45: I posted just a thread with a pcb that size or smaller, but not much interest.

Maybe you could cut jazzed's tetra prop pcb???

I got sick of cutting up proto boards (even though the offcut makes a nice power supply stick), and added a bit of functionality with my Und3rb3lly board.

Its essentially the proto board core with all pins broken out, plus a couple of extra features (LDO regulator, RX TX and Power leds, 8 leds on the VGA pins ala the Prop Demo board, optional MicroSD, USB resistor pads for P0-2 resistor pads (on v3) ). On the back is C3 style memory including a second micro SD, and optional TV resistors if you need them. Its 1.35" square.

If you need something smaller I have a keyfob whose OD is about 24mm (same as the lithium coin cell that it mounts on). Not all pins are broken out however (22 of the 32 are) I must try harder...

I bought the propeller backpack during last week's sale. It is a pretty sweet little board for the money. The AV out could be used to display status and make sound. The eight IO pins could connect several sensors and a few servos.

I intend to use it for machine vision with the line scan camera.

Here is a link to my newly announced 1"x1" CpuBlade. It is stackable.

All pins broken out, 3V3 regulator, optional transistor reset circuit, and eeprom with wp link. Requires 5V DC.
