Using the gyro to control ESC's

I am part of a high school team that competes in the MATE ROVer (http://www.materover.org/) competitions. After taking PLTW Digital Electronics I think it would be cool if I could integrate the BASIC Stamp into our ROV. The thing that I would like to be able to do the most would be to have a gyro that would automatically send control signals to the ESC's to level out the ROV. I would also like to be able to controller the ESC's through the BASIC Stamp on a computer using a flight joystick.

    Yup, but I want the gyro to be able to auto level the ROV when no user input is present.

    could you use a memsic2125 or both

    That would probably be what I would end up using, but what I need to know is how to write code that will take inputs from a flight joystick and send it to the stamp on the ROV while having the gyro make ajustments to my input to keep it level.

    do you have links to your parts?gyro, flight stick,esc's etc.
