From the website:

Convert your PCB Design into 3D

The RS PCB Converter for SketchUp is a simple yet powerful tool that allows designers to import IDF files into Google SketchUp.

Using this tool, engineers can to combine both electronic and mechanical designs, opening the door to collaboration. Design changes can be made immediately without having to wait for concept drawings, expensive prototypes or extensive reviews. With the addition of 3D models downloaded from the RS website, there is now no barrier to true integrated design.

I just tried it with an IDF created by the Pulsonix software I use, and SketchUp wouldn't import the file. Pulsonix comes from the same company that created the RS DesignSpark PCB software.

Yes, I'm using Version 8. I tried it with a DesignSpark demo PCB, and that sort of worked. I don't think that many of the parts had proper 3D models.

I tried it over the weekend and it works fine with DesignSpark v2 IDF output and SketchUp v8. It gives a simple "skyscraper" height 3D model which useful enough to see where "space" clashes would occur when the PCB is integrated in a mechanical design
