Does Parallax Inc have an IRC channel?

Jus wondering. I just started with the Hydra kit, and I could use a little help with it... (the first tutorial program just refuses to work!)

Still, forums are great and I'm looking forward to hanging out, but I tend to favor IRC and I didn't know if there was a channel for this forum.

Hi JoeYoung - welcome to the Forums!

No IRC here, at least not for now. Unless it's really well hidden, and nobody's told me about it...

We have some really smart people on these Formus (and by really smart, I'm referring to the non-Parallaxian crowd ;-)

If you could describe what you're doing/experiencing, I'm sure that somebody(s) will jump in and offer advice to get you up and going...and then there's always our toll-free tech support too.

Maybe start another thread with a subject line addressing the issue?

    Thanks, and again - Welcome!
    -Matt

I'm starting to the think the tutorials I was using are for another device, or something....

    Just guessing...
The Hydra uses a different Xtal, so in place of xtal 5_000_000 and pll16x you should have xtal 10_000_000 and pll8x..
By the way there is the full Hydra CD available as a free download with sample file and an extraordinary pdf book.

You might need to check the schematics for the tutorial as well and be sure that say if you are using a button it is normally open if the tutorial calls for normally open. I know with my professional development board and the tutorials that come in the PEKit that the buttons on the board are the opposite of what all the schematics call for and the code for each tutorial requires some tweaking.
