Formal Accreditation

It seems to me that Parallax is pursing a larger industrial customer base as a result of the release of the Parallax Semiconductor web site. I am also assuming this is an initial move to help support the the second generation propeller. I would like to suggest offering a formal qualification for developers. A Parallax Semiconductor software or hardware developer certification would add to the degree of professionalism that would help support the effort Parallax is moving towards with its industrial customers. A combination of coursework, experience, and formal education would be welcomed.

Also formal courses or classroom training offered at your facility would also be nice. I wished Parallax offered better training on programming or building devices. Web based course work would be plus too.

    Hi jhwatts,

That is an interesting idea, to have something like a "certified developers network". I would think that may have mixed results in terms of verifying the quality of a certain developer. For example, something like that could verify someone is highly proficient in using the Propeller, however would not give much insight into whether they are good at project management and/or circuit design. Nevertheless, something like that could be a real feather in the cap of an engineer.

    Thanks for the suggestions. :-)
