Can anyone share experiences using the J programming language?

A colleague said J is his language of choice for number crunching on a PC, now I'm curious.

http://www.jsoftware.com/ Haven't used it. I have too many languages now and don't see a need (for me)

From wiki - "the lack of widely available and effective non-von Neumann languages has deprived computer designers of the motivation and the intellectual foundation needed to develop new computer architectures."
    Says J is a non-von Neumann language.

I was thinking it might be handy for crunching data collected by a prop on say a PC or an ARM.

We wouldn't want computer designers to be deprived, now would we?
