Scope Adapter for Apple Devices

Interesting 5mhz scope adapter for iPhone/iPad.
But 298.00 for a 5MHz scope adapter? It also has
4 channels of digital input. This thing looks cool but
it's overpriced IMO.
Better to get a cheap Rigol DS1052E for about 350.00
The 5MHz bandwidth puzzles me? What sort of cheap and slow uC is this thing
based on anyway. I'd think a cheap Prop could just about handle a 5 MHz
bandwidth. Why didn't they just use a 600MHz or faster ARM and get better
quality.

Apple stuff is good but it's iHyped and iPricey

5 MHz isn't much use, anyway, it won't handle square waves at more than about 1.8 MHz. I use an old Tek 100 MHz scope.
edit: @Holly
It's a DS1052E - here's another pic.
(I didn't want to add another off topic post)
What model Rigol is it?
If I could get something similar for my Android phone, I'd probably do it sooner rather than later.
Yes, I can see the qualities of such a thing, it's the limited 5MHz spec
that bugs me....given the price of the thing...plus why not 2 analog chans??
True. A 14 channel scope is possible with today's Propeller, but the sample rate is limited to 2.5MHz or less per channel at different bit resolutions.
It's good to be da king!
Those are good scopes!
I like them because they are cheap and you don't have to worry
as much about them (I'm rough on scopes...bad scope karma I guess)
I'd be scared to touch a decent 5000.00 dollar scope...it would go poof.
Holly, I lugged a Tektronics 465 scope around (and not always gently either) for more years than I care to remember and never had a problem with the electronics or crt. The plastic cover for the face was replaced several times, also the feet, and the power cord. It got so much use the aluminum case even came apart where the carrying handle attached to it. I finally got rid of it a couple of years back, not because of the electronics or the crt, but because the tiny little leaf spring contacts they used to switch ranges and such had no spring left in them. Those scopes were amazing. Forget bad Karma, get a Tek.
