I had a GREAT idea for those who need a USB Prop chip with a header .
Yes we have the prop proto board .
I know ..
But the QuickStart has headers .
Dare I say it but it kinda reminds me of a ( starts with a A ) shield .
I may want to explore the idea of a Expansion pack PCB to sit on top with Proto board space and a option for a Mini Bred board Like on the BOE .
I don't know if Parallax would want a Large market Off the QuickStart but If it can be done with out issues with the normal users of it . It may be a quick way to a proto type stacker ..
I shale call the stacks "plates"
With this system once can plug in the "plates" on top and mix them up .
The same QS can service more then one user in a desgine environment .

The "stacker plates" that we'll offer for the QuickStart will be to support our application note reference designs. For example, you'll probably see a specific add-on board for internet connectivity or wireless radio communications. We must be careful not to undermine the efforts of Gadget Gangster since he's got a whole set of nice Propeller Platform Stacker Plates and a nice cottage industry to go with it.
One board we will make very quickly for everybody is a simple prototype board.

So you will have some them, GOOD !
I was wondering why you had Such a nice header there ..
* great minds think the same *
Peter.
Not "Stacker Plates", the extra boards should be called "Mezzanine" boards. I had just called the board I was working on a mezzanine board to my wife. We sat and tried to remember where there was a mezzanine at the college we both went to. We finally remembered an upper balcony were we picked up our student IDs.
Right after our reminiscing about mezzanines, Phil made this post.
He keeps stealing my ideas. I think my Propeller Backpack might be bugged.
So anyway I think mezzanine should be the official name. It's already the official name at the Degn's.
I'll post a picture of the mezzanine I'm working on sometime on this thread.
Peter, I don't know if you have a QuickStart board or not. When you get one I hope you'll try out one of the programs in the thread I just mentioned.
My modified version works much better, for me, than the original demo program.

During the development of the QuickStart board, we have been referring to stacking boards as mezzanine boards, as that is the technical term. Most likely we will keep using that term, unless we come up with a good reason to call them something else.

Well, it turns out I'm not as clever as I thought. It turns out I had read about mezzanine boards here on the forum. I didn't remember why I was calling my board a mezzanine board when by wife asked me why I was using that term. I thought I might have made it up (although I did tell my wife I might have seen it used by others).
I did a quick search and sure enough I had participated in a thread where the term mezzanine board had been used.
I therefore will not, require a royalty for each mezzanine board sold after all.
