I'm a fan of the EEVblog.

I just love that Aussie EE and his funny videos.

He has a new one up I just watched, best yet!
Just 5mins long...a must see.

A new project of his, a bit messy and unpredictable.
Spends too much time in sleep mode and will take
a year or more just to get the firmware tweaked up for
a hello world test.

    Holly-
    Hilarious!

My first prototype has been running well for 19 years. Rev B. wasn't necessarily an improvement, nor was it less functional - just entirely different. Both are great in their own ways.

Rev C came along and we were stunned that it was dramatically different! Rev C prefers short hair and loves to play in the mud - unlike the Prototype and Rev B that both liked to play indoors with small, non-functional models of themselves...

Rev D was a slightly smaller version of Rev C, and its CPU is running some other (up to this point) unidentifiable operating system.

I (we) stopped the "new product development process" about 10 years ago now, because Proto, and Rev's B thru D take up all our bandwidth, clock cycles, and debugging time...

    Matt

I don't have a prototype yet but I have hopes for the future :-)
Have to find just the right co-developer.

Fast forward 16 years, and this will still apply... :blank:

I want to program mine to solder but that means converting everything to lead-free. I don't want it to short-circuit itself with heavy metal.

    Or rap.

My Prototype was so good that it started replicating itself! The Prototype's first replicant is now 3.5 months old and is working flawlessly!

I've got two cute new arrivals:

    They hatched two days ago.

The nest is on the balcony outside my top floor bedroom window. The parents have been living here for about 15 months, and raised two chicks last year. I supplement their diet with cat food every day; they beg for food when they are hungry, as they did when they were chicks.

I had to crawl out yesterday and rescue one of the chicks that had fallen between the edge of the nest and the balcony wall, and couldn't extricate itself.

So you actually do live near the sea I guess.

I'm a couple of 100 yards from the sea front, and have a good view of the sea (English Channel) from my top floor. The parents feed the chicks on small fish.

The speckle patterns are unique to each chick. The parents learn them in a couple of days, so that they can identify their own chicks in large colonies. They eat other gulls' chicks, if they can get at them. They are actually Herring Gulls, we have about 200 breeding pairs here in Hastings and St. Leonards. Some people don't like them, because of the noise and the mess they make when going through rubbish bags that have been left out. We get foxes and badgers round here, as well, and they go through the rubbish and make a mess. One of my neighbours goes out at night and feeds them. I'm close to the town centre, so it's surprising.
