LCD-Display don't work

Hi!
I have just installed my LCD display from Parallax.The Display (http://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/txtSearch/27976/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/50/Default.aspx) and the TEST mode works (only 5V+GND applied) where it displays an automated message. But I seem to be unable to send data to the display. The test codes does not work, the only thing that happens is that the display on start-up lits up for some milliseconds (just as the servos gets a burst on start-up) and then it goes all black again. Do I have some power problems or have I misinterpreted something very basic of the installation?

    I have had the same problem, and it was the low battery power, It looks like you got a power problem too, try to test your display alone with no servos connected and use a new battery. Normaly if TEST mode works, the LCD is OK.
