UPEC '11 - should I?

Since I missed UPEW last week, I am thinking perhaps UPEC could be doable. Anybody want to fill me in. I got a glimpse of goings on via JohnR's ustream during UPEW.

What's the 'sitch?

There is also the UPENE coming up in Ohio this August. I've been there all three times so far and am planning on bringing a couple boxes for the freebie table and also some new projects to show. Definitely a great show to attend if you can make it.

I've been to UPEC and all of the UPENEs. I'd recommend going. I haven't made it to UPEW yet.

UPEC and UPENE are both one-day affairs with no overnight component but they are worth attending. I didn't see any UPEW video other than the presentations so I don't know if they showed all the tables and stuff. But, there's always been a lot of showing and discussing of projects, talking, etc. I would expect fewer vendors at UPEC and UPENE than at UPEW.

Thanks for the input guys. I will look into the dates on both and see if I can make it to one of them.

Can't say much about UPEC, though UPENE was an enjoyable experience from my perspective.

All of the expos are excellent, not because of anything I'm doing.

I keep telling folks that when I arrive at a location it's not an expo. It's me visiting that location. When a hundred+ excited Propellerheads arrive with their projects.... then it's an expo!

The UPEW event tends to be a little more energetic, because it is located at Parallax and includes things like tours of the facility and unlimited sales of Parallax project. The UPEC & UPENE shows depend more on the projects and people who arrive with them for fun, and there has been no shortage of expo awesomeness. Last year's UPENE robotics challenge (which we WILL do again this year) added a flavor to the event that takes advantage of the extra space we have at that meeting location.

    Short answer: yes, absolutely, yes.

Good. I've been working on some robotics stuff recently - hope it works out.
