Did cheap shipping go away?

I know there _was_ once the option of standard US post to overseas countries (didn't have insurance) which was a much cheaper option.

I went to look at the new QuickStart boards {can you say "Christmas in July"}and for $20 each I was planning on ordering a few, but the cheap shipping offer seems to have disappeared..

Am I missing something?

There are different vendors that provide a scale and software to ship packages via USPS so you don't have to wait at the post office.

It must be back, I just went to look and as soon as I chose to "Buy one now" this notice appeared at the top of the Shopping Cart page:

USPS 1st Class International Mail - This service does not include insurance, or tracking. Customers accept full responsibility for any lost, or damaged orders. These orders will not be replaced or refunded by Parallax.

I didn't go on to the final checkout though.

Of recent, I've been buying audio circuit boards shipped 1st Class International Post to Taiwan without any problems. Why shouldn't USPS be just as good. Somehow we have been manipulated into believing that we need 2 day AIR with tracking and insurance. I happily can wait 3 weeks for delivery when the shipping no longer adds a huge burden to the purchase cost.

What do you get when Federal Express and UPS merge? Fed UP?

Some Ebay suppliers in China offer ordinary air mail postage included in the price, which takes about 2 1/2 weeks to get to the UK. I've had no problems with two orders like that.
