New sub-forum possibility?

I was reading through a recent CNC thread, and it occurred to me that a sub-forum for machining & mechanical topics would fit in well here. I know almost everybody here touches on it to some degree, and there are some industry professionals here as well.

So... is there any chance of this? Just thought I'd ask.

    That's a good suggestion. I second it.

If you build it, I will come!!

The robotics group touches on some of the mechanical aspect but there's more topics to be discussed for non-robotic applications, I'm sure!!

As many have said, there's more to electronic engineering than just circuit design, so I am definitely all for this new sub-forum idea.

    Call it "Electromechanics" maybe?

I don't know.. I think that "electromechanics" = "mechatronics" = "robotics" = "we already have that".

Maybe "Mechanical Design & Construction Techiniques"? Or "Mechanical Technology", as mentioned in the other thread by markaeric. Perhaps with a description mentioning "from design to construction".

    Kevin and All--

I am very interested in a forum about machining. I belong to several machining forums, but none of them have a robotics "flavor." The primary machining forum to which I belong has several members interested in microcontrollers.
